Kim Victoria Cattrall (born August 21st, 1956) is a British-Canadian actress best known for her role in the role of Samantha Jones in the HBO series Sex and the City for which she was awarded five Emmy Award nominations and four Golden Globe Award nominations winning the 2002 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. Between 2008 and 2010, she reprised the role in the movies Sex and the City and Sex and the City 2. Her main roles include Police Academy, Big Trouble in Little China Mannequin, and Porky's from the 1980s. Before beginning her acting profession as a model, she worked as an Swedish model. She was later crowned her first Miss Sweden contest. As she moved to the US and appeared in numerous movies as a minor role and her career began to take off. The first role she was credited with was in the movie Abbott and Costello Go to Mars where she played the part of a Venusian guard. In the following year, after appearing in Blood Alley, she won the Golden Globe Award in the category of most promising youngcomer.
